Join a sunrise or sunset balloon flight from Siem Reap Province, with hotel pickup and an English-speaking driver. The balloon carries up to 25 people, though some flights use smaller baskets. Expect about 30 to 35 minutes above rice fields, villages, and Bakong Temple.

Join an English-speaking Cambodian scholar such as Phy or Nak for Angkor Wat, Khmer carvings, local history, and photo tips. Ride a tethered helium balloon for 12 minutes, weather permitting, then eat a Khmer lunch. Hotel pickup, transport, water, and a small group are included.

Spend seven hours touring Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, and Ta Prohm with a local English-speaking guide. Guides such as Chou, Nak Chum, and Phuy Phy have earned strong praise, but the $37 temple pass is extra.

Ride a hot air balloon above Bakong Temple and the Cambodian countryside at sunrise or sunset. Your English-speaking driver collects you from your Siem Reap hotel, while the balloon carries up to 18 to 25 passengers for a 30 to 35 minute flight. Weather can cancel the trip.

You’ll ride a French Aerophile helium balloon tethered about 800 meters from Angkor Wat. A private English-speaking driver collects you in Siem Reap, then you rise for an advertised 30-minute view of the temple, city, and countryside at sunrise or sunset.
“Nie wieder! Am besten man bucht sich so einen Tuktuk Fahrer und holt sich vor Ort ein Ticket für 25$. Letztendlich waren wir 19 Minuten statt den 30 Minuten oben. Ich wurde direkt von dem Ballonfahrer gerufen, dass ich mich beeilen soll, dass es die letzte Fahrt wäre. Ich mich also beeilt und auch keinen Sonnenuntergang gesehen, da ich wie gesagt nur 10 Minuten oben war. Nach mir sind dann weitere Personen gefahren.”

“I must admit, I misinterpreted “Angkor Hot Air Balloon Ride” with “Angkor Wat…” That being said, our pickup was late then we crawled through town for other passengers before slowly making our way to the balloon, clearly to keep launch near sunrise (6:21). We lifted off in the haze at about 6:30, the sunrise obscured by haze and clouds. We drifted over dry rice fields for about 28 minutes before landing. We basically saw the same sights we had on landing in Siam Reap Airport. This tour was expensive and not memorable in any way. I do not recommend this to enhance your time in Siam Reap.”
